Shopping Comparison Sites

Wouldn’t it be awesome if you can cut down the time it takes to shop around for the best deal? Something that can show you side by side your favourite features and benefits of a stockist, supplier or provider to quickly assess which is the most value to you?

Enter Comparison Sites! Use the power of information to quickly find, compare and buy products in less time and for the best price. Comparison sites are typically utilised for big ticket items and also utilities and services, however they are becoming increasingly popular for everyday items such as groceries and petrol! Check out a list of some of my favourite and most utilised sites – I hope you love them as much as I do!

  • Grocery Cop – Grocery Cop is an amazing app to help you compare the best deals on your groceries if you shop at Woolworths and/or Coles. It can help you sort out your shopping list by helping you search specific items and compare prices at both stores, you can browse specials or you can even convert your shopping list right to the shopping cart by linking your log in details.
  • Finder.com.au – Finder is a favourite store as it compares a range of products and services such as Telco, Energy, Insurance and Financial products. In fact, I recently utilised Finder in my blog Thrifty Telco Teens. Sign up as a member to receive free credit score report, as well as personalised services and deals.
  • Ebay – Times they are a changing at Ebay. Whilst the giant has been around for some time now and we all know the benefits of comparison shopping for specific items from various national and international sellers – did you know that some of the giant retailers like Apple and Coles are now selling through Ebay? It seems the grocery war turns tech with Coles offering double FlyBuys points if you shop one of their 4000 products on Ebay, in addition to the benefit of Ebay plus members receiving free shipping for purchases over $49 if you live in the Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne metro area. Whilst not all fresh ingredients are listed yet, you will find bread and fresh food items.
  • Choice.com.au – Choice is a non profit independent site that has been around for many years and offers great comparisons and reviews on a range of household products such as Kitchen, Outdoor, Bedroom, Cooling, Heating , Energy, technology and electronics and a great section on Babies and Kids.
  • Amazon – Amazon Australia is here and setting the proverbial cat amongst the retailer pigeons. Recent TV publicity demonstrates how savvy shoppers are now utilising Amazon for everyday items (much like Ebay is with Coles) , and extending that benefit with Amazon Prime Membership to offer other perks like qualifying for free delivery and other perks such as access to Prime Video, music and ebooks.
  • Canstar – Boasted as Australia’s biggest financial comparison site, Canstar products with the tick of approval are regularly advertised in the media. Shop here for over 740 brands if you are comparing Utilities, Financial and Insurance products for personal and business usage.
  • Skyscanner.com.au – A great resource for checking out cheap flights worldwide, with all possible connections. As an ex-travel agent , I have found this one to be quite useful!

A word on comparison sites , whilst there are a number of other sites out there I would recommend that you check that it is an independent site as if it is not you may be only seeing just some of the products on the market (specifically chosen to benefit the web creator). Comment below and let us know how much time and money you have saved using a comparison site! Speaking from experience, I know this avenue has really helped us ensure we are receiving the best deal over a number of household items and services in a speedy and efficient way that suits this laptop lifestyle mum on the go so that I can focus on the more important things!
